Задание 1. Порядок выполнения задания. Составьте свои диалоги, используя приведенные ниже образцы как модель высказывания. Используйте фразы речевого этикета из таблицы, приведенной ниже.

 

Запрос информации
- Could you tell me more about…? - Can I find out some details about? - I’d like to know more…. - I’d like to get clear about…. - We should clarify this matter, I think. - Do you know anything else / new about? - Where / what / whom should I …? - Who told you that? - You mean to say …,don’t you? - Do you mean to say that …? - Am I right to understand that…?   - I’d like to add…. - I’d like to tell something else…. - By the way…. - To tell the truth…. - To be exact…. - To avoid any misunderstanding. - In connection with … - You should address (appeal to). - As for as …. - To go on with ….  

Model 1:

A: I'm looking for a new job, sir.

B: What exactly do you want?

A: I wouldn't mind working in a pub.

B: Have you done anything like that before?

A: Well, I once did a bit of serving...

Model 2:

A: I wonder whether you need any part-timers.

B: What kind of work were you thinking of?

A: A hotel job or some sort.

B: Have you ever done anything similar?

A: Not so far. No. I’m more or less straight from college but I'll do my best because …

Model 3:

-What do you do for a living?

-Actually, I don't work yet. I go to college ‘The Imperial Alexandrovsky Lyceum’ and study management.

-Why have you chosen management as your future profession?

-Because it's a demanding and prestigious job today.

Model 4:

-What does your friend do?

-Oh, he wants to take up computers.

-Why does he want to study computer programming?

-Well, he lost his job last month and hasn't been able to find another one.

Model 5:

-What's your present job, Sam?

-I work as a personnel manager at a big firm but I want to transfer to the International Sales Division.

-What for?

-Well, I don't really like to work at the cabinet. I just want to travel, to go to Africa or Latin America, for example.

-Hmm, that's exciting.

Model 6:

-What would you like to be, Ann?

-Actually I don't know yet. I think I'd rather be a writer.

-Are there any special reasons for that?

-I see only one: I like to see my name in print.

 

Model 7:

Interviewer A: Twenty applicants — that's not bad for one advert. I've made a shortlist of five, so we'd better call them for an interview.

Interviewer B: Will next Monday do?

Interviewer A: Monday, all right. I'll see this one first, Linda Kay. She seems to be the best qualified.

Interviewer B: Is she the graduate in business studies?

Interviewer A: Yes, and I hope she's good at typing as well.
