MASTER'S INDIVIDUAL READING FORM

Subject statement

Let us think about the most important/ineteresting/urgent issues of the area of your research expertise. Here you can put down all the ideas and associations that come to your mind in relation with the subject stated. Feel free to draw mindmaps, word clouds or use any tools you might need further on.

Search parameters

On the basis of the ideas, generated within the subject statement unit, define the main search parameters to serve as guidelines when using web search engines (key words, word combinations, hashtags etc.)

Search results

You are expected to find 3 relevant texts (75000 characters/semester total). Your texts are to cover the following topic areas: text 1 – general ideas and problem fundamentals; text 2 – specific field/application/research etc.; text 3 – further problem study/extension. In this unit you have to provide titles, links, authors and abstracts of the texts found.

The following tasks are designed to be done for each text separately.

Pronunciation

Write down the words you are not sure how to pronounce properly. Don’t forget to provide the transcription.

Vocabulary

Write down 10-15 key words of the text and explain them using the following means: translation, definition, synonyms or antonyms.

Word building

Fill in the chart with 10-15 basic terms and give their derivatives.

Collocations

Fill in the chart with useful collocations, phrases and expressions and translate them.

Reading Comprehension

Entitle the text/give the text a title of your own.

Entitle the paragraphs/give the text a title of your own.

Ask up to 15 questions presenting the text outline.

Make a mind map/flow chart of the text.

Using the mind map/flow chart summarize general ideas of the text (up to 150 words).

Reflection

Analyze the texts from the point of your professional interests and fill in the chart.

Master's individual reading form представляет собой раздел, самостоятельно заполняемый студентами-магистрантами на основе работы с текстами для индивидуального чтения в рамках заданной темы/проблемы.

Subject statement

Основная задача данного раздела – формулировка основных проблем и в рамках заданной тематики. Работа проводится в аудитории и включает в себя мозговой штурм и обсуждение возможных проблем для дальнейшего изучения.

Search parameters

Дальнейшая учебная деятельность предполагает определение ключевых слов, словосочетаний и хэштегов для осуществления поиска и фиксации трех информационных источников (основной текст, дополнительный текст, текст для углубленного изучения), соответствующих определенной тематике и их представление с указанием вида публикации, автора, адреса (ссылки), аннотации и т.д. в разделе Search results.

Рекомендуется, чтобы в качестве основного текста выступала статья либо несколько тематически связанных дайджестов. В отдельных случаях возможно использование инфографики или видеофайлов. Учебные действия с отобранными текстами производятся в соответствии со следующими разделами:
