Данная учебно-методическая разработка предназначена для курсантов 1-го курса.
Ее использование целесообразно после изучения темы “ Constitution of the USA”.

Для введения в тему рекомендуется текст для просмотрового чтения (PREAMBLE)
с последующей передачей основного содержания текста на русском языке и ответы курсантов на вопросы “What is constitution?”, “When was the Constitution of the Russian Federation adopted?”.

Изучение темы рекомендуется начинать с чтения текста “The Constitution of the Russian Federation”, работы с лексикой (упр. 1-3), закрепления лексики и проверки понимания текста (упр. 4-6). Повторение грамматического материала 1-го семестра (Simple Tenses- упр. 8-9) на основе новой лексики, закрепление нового грамматического материала (Present Perfect- упр. 10).

Для подготовки к пересказу текста рекомендуется использовать упр. 11 и 12 (работа в парах: сильный-слабый). Слабые курсанты могут использовать ответы на вопросы (упр. 11) для составления текста для пересказа.

Preamble

We, the multinational people of the Russian Federation, united by a common destiny on our land, asserting human rights and liberties, civil peace and accord, preserving the historic unity of the state, proceeding from the commonly recognized principles of equality and self-determination of the peoples honoring the memory of our ancestors, who have passed on to us love of and respect for our homeland and faith in good and justice, reviving the sovereign statehood of Russia and asserting its immutable democratic foundations, striving to secure the wellbeing and prosperity of Russia and proceeding from a sense of responsibility for our homeland before the present and future generations, and being aware of ourselves as part of the world community, hereby approve the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

The Constitution of the Russian Federation

The current Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted by the national referendum on December 12, 1993. The Constitution came into force on December 25,1993 at the moment of its official publication. It replaced the previous Soviet-era Constitution of 12 April 1978 of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

The current Constitution consists of Preamble and 2 Sections. Section 1 of the Constitution includes the following Chapters:
